Ride Across Belize: 2010
This year, Ride Across Belize has the slogan:
"Every Mile can Save a Child, Ride for a Cause, Ride for Health, Give the Gift of Life!"
This year, the Staff of SSB, Ride Across Belize, and the Belize Rotary group are partnering to raise funds for the gift of life program.
Also, the branch offices are being involved in the planning and actual fund raising activities. The branch offices will be sending out the request letters and conduct follow ups. This sets the stage for a friendly competition between the branch offices to see who will raise the most money for the event. The Branch that raises the most money will be given recognition by the committee and will be reporting the progress made as we go along the ride, calling in to the media to report!
This event will also host international guests all the way from New York, as a New York Cycling club will be joining this great event!
The Course
The race will take place from May 27th to May 30th 2010.
The 1st stage leaves corozal at 6:00 AM from in front of the Social Security Board's Office (passes through Orange Walk Town) and ends in Belize City (arrives at about 11:30 AM)
The 2nd stage starts at 6:00 Am on the 28th from in front of the SSB office in Belize City, passes through Belmopan and ends in front of our SSB office in Santa Elena (arrives at about 11:30 AM)
The 3rd Stage starts at 6:00 Am fron Santa Elena to Dangriga (arrives at about 11:00 AM)
The Final Stage starts at 5 AM, in front of Social Security Offices and goes all the way to Punta Gorda Town (ends at about 12:30 PM)
NB. We usually stop for a short while in both Orange Walk and Belmopan for some light snacks provided by the SSB staff.
