AN ACT to change the Short Titles of the Laws of Belize enacted before Independence from "Ordinances" to "Acts" and for matters connected therewith.

BE IN ENACTED, by and with the advice and consent of the House of Representatives and the Senate of Belize and by the authority of the same, as follows:-

l. This Act may be cited as the

ORDINANCE (CHANGE OF SHORT TITLES)
ACT, 1987.

2. Every Ordinance enacted by the Legislature of Belize and in force on the 21st day of September, 1981, is hereby amended in the Short Title thereof by the substitution of the word "Act" for the word "Ordinance".

3. In every Act, Ordinance, rule, regulation, order or other instrument having effect as part of the law of Belize, any reference to "Ordinance", being an Ordinance passed by the Legislature of Belize before the 21st day of September, 1981, shall be read and construed as a reference to "Act".
